Our Pleachy Trees at BBC Gardeners’ World Live! We're Buzzing About It
We’re thrilled to announce that Just Pleachy is supplying the Pleached Lime Trees for The Nectary, a stunning showcase garden designed by Kate Patrick at BBC Gardeners’ World Live this June.
The Ultimate Gardening Day Out
And with an incredible line-up featuring Monty Don, Frances Tophill, Adam Frost, Nick Bailey, and Nicki Chapman, you can see why. Whether you’re after expert advice, the latest garden trends, or just a great day out surrounded by plants, this show has it all.
The Nectary: A Garden for Pollinators
The Nectary is all about sustainability, craftsmanship, and biodiversity. It brings together local artisans, farmers, and family-run businesses to create a space that not only looks beautiful but also provides a much-needed haven for wildlife.
One of the key features of The Nectary is its celebration of pollinators, with planting designed to support bees and other vital insects. Our Small-Leaved Lime Pleached Trees (Tilia cordata 'Greenspire') will be the backdrop of the design, chosen for their RHS Plants for Pollinators status and their ability to provide nectar for the bees.
A Garden Designed for Both People and Wildlife
The Nectary will feature a wide range of elements that make it a haven for both people and wildlife. Visitors can expect to see a pollinator’s paradise, filled with nectar-rich plants blooming throughout the seasons.
Handcrafted details will add to the garden’s unique charm, including stained glass in the greenhouse, designed to support plant growth and create a calming colour therapy effect.
The space will also showcase local craftsmanship, featuring UK-grown willow weaving, blacksmith artistry, and carpentry, all using sustainable materials.
Edible plants will play a key role in the design, with heirloom vegetables and heritage fruits grown sustainably. Every stage of plant life will be represented, from full bloom to seedpod, ensuring continuous food sources for wildlife.
Sustainability has been a key focus in every aspect of The Nectary. The design prioritises reusing, recycling, and bridging the June Gap, a crucial time when pollinators struggle to find nectar sources between spring and summer flowering seasons.
A Trend We Can See Growing
At Just Pleachy, we knew this shift was on the horizon when we predicted it in our Top Five Garden Trends for 2025. Gardens are evolving from personal retreats into essential wildlife habitats, supporting biodiversity alongside beauty and design.
More and more homeowners are embracing pollinator-friendly trees, wildflower meadows, and sustainable planting. From RHS-approved trees like our Small-Leaved Lime to berry-filled hedging that supports birds and insects, wildlife-friendly gardening is more popular than ever.
