Delivery policy

FREE Specialist Tree Delivery

Our pleached trees require specialised transportation for safe delivery. We offer complimentary specialist tree delivery within the majority of mainland England and Wales for orders of three or more trees (postcodes covered are listed below). Exclusions apply to certain postcodes, such as the northernmost or southernmost parts of England and the westernmost parts of Wales. If your postcode is excluded, we'll provide a personalised delivery quote. You can cancel your order for a full refund if the charges are unacceptable.

Collection

If you would prefer to collect your trees from our nursery in Norfolk, please contact us to arrange this without any delivery charge.

Order Confirmation

After placing your order, you'll receive an email confirmation. We will promptly inform you of any delays.

Dispatch and Delivery

Once availability is confirmed and payment is captured, your order moves to the nursery team for pleaching or preparation, and then to the delivery team for dispatch. Delivery will be made to the address provided with your order, so please ensure these details are accurate. If you are not available to receive the delivery, please provide clear instructions for where you would like the goods to be left. Any access restrictions or special delivery requirements should be communicated to us before dispatch. We cannot accept responsibility for delays, failed deliveries, additional costs or damage resulting from incorrect delivery instructions or undisclosed access restrictions

The most popular 180cm clear stem sizes are held in stock at the UK nursery for faster delivery (typically 10–15 working days). Other sizes are specially ordered from our European growers and usually arrive within 30 working days. Occasionally, this can take a little longer with quality checks at the border.

If you have placed an order for custom frames or planting, we will contact you as lead times will be longer. The exact timeframe may vary depending on the number of trees ordered and the delivery postcode.

Before dispatch, our delivery team will contact you with your scheduled delivery date and an inspection photo of one of your trees, representative of the others. Please note that variations in living plants are normal. Many of our pleached trees are freshly pleached to order and may not fully cover the frame initially, but with proper care, they will flourish over time.

Delivery Scheduling

We operate on planned weekly delivery routes across the UK to ensure the safe and efficient transport of our trees.

Once your order is ready, we'll contact you with an estimated week of delivery. Closer to the time, once the route has been finalised, we'll confirm your scheduled delivery day. Please note that estimated delivery weeks and scheduled delivery days are not guaranteed and may occasionally change due to operational requirements or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Our standard delivery service does not include specified delivery dates or timed delivery slots. If your project requires delivery on a particular day, please contact us before ordering to discuss a bespoke nominated-day delivery service (typically from around £250 for mainland England and Wales, subject to availability).

The delivery team is committed to ensuring a smooth delivery process. Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address to accept the order. Our standard delivery window is between 8:00am and 8:00pm, and the driver will normally call approximately one hour before arrival.

As our trees are transported on delivery routes, schedules may occasionally change due to factors such as adverse weather, traffic conditions, legal driver hours, vehicle issues or other operational circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If this happens, we'll let you know as soon as possible and arrange the next available delivery.

We strongly recommend not booking gardeners, landscapers, fencing contractors or other trades to coincide with an estimated or scheduled delivery date. Your trees will be perfectly happy waiting in their pots for a short period, provided they are kept upright and well watered, whereas contractor bookings may incur costs that we cannot accept responsibility for if a delivery has to be rescheduled.

Tree Deliveries (Specialist Lorry): We'll deliver your trees to the front of your property or the nearest suitable access point. Please ensure there is clear access for our large delivery lorry and a firm, level surface for unloading. If you have any access restrictions, such as narrow roads, low bridges, overhead cables, gates, steep slopes or other obstacles, please let us know when placing your order. Our delivery team has specialist equipment to unload your trees safely, but it remains your responsibility to move them from the point of delivery into your garden. As a guide, 150cm clear stem trees with a 6-8cm stem girth typically weigh 15-25kg, whilst 180cm clear stem trees with a 12-14cm stem girth typically weigh 50-75kg.

Ready-made Borders and Hedging Plants (Pallet Network): Ready-made borders and hedging plants are delivered on pallets using 7.5 to 18 tonne vehicles, so please ensure your road and property can accommodate a vehicle of this size. As a guide, if a dustbin lorry can access your property, delivery is usually possible. Deliveries are strictly kerbside only or to the nearest suitable hard, level surface, such as concrete, tarmac or block paving. Pump trucks cannot operate safely on gravel, shingle, loose stone, grass or other uneven surfaces, so where a suitable unloading area is not available, delivery will be made to the nearest suitable access point. If you will not be available to receive the delivery, please provide clear instructions for where you would like the pallet to be left. It remains your responsibility to move the goods from the point of delivery into your garden. The pallet is left with the delivery and becomes your responsibility for its disposal or recycling after delivery. Please inform us of any access restrictions, uneven surfaces or other delivery constraints when placing your order.

Authorised Drop-Off Delivery

While it’s ideal if someone can be there to accept your delivery, with your prior authorisation, we’re happy to arrange for your trees to be left in a secure and sheltered spot. Just let us know your preferred location or provide access to your garden beforehand.

Our driver will also call you an hour before delivery to let you know they’re on the way. Once the trees are carefully unloaded, they’ll take a photo to confirm their safe arrival, giving you peace of mind that everything has been handled with care.

By choosing this delivery option, you acknowledge that the trees will be accepted without an in-person inspection at the time of delivery. Please note that, as living, perishable goods, the trees cannot be returned once they have been left at your specified location.

Rearranging Delivery

If you’re unable to take delivery of your trees on your scheduled delivery date, please let us know as soon as possible so we can rearrange this for you. In most cases, we’re happy to move your delivery date once, usually within 30 days of the original delivery date, as part of our standard delivery service.

If you’re still unable to accept delivery after the revised date, your trees may need to remain in our nursery for a little longer. In this situation, you have the option to purchase our Extended Care Service, which ensures your trees continue to receive the appropriate care while delivery is deferred.

If delivery cannot take place and the Extended Care Service has not been selected, we reserve the right to return non-bespoke items to stock and issue a refund less any applicable charges. Bespoke or made-to-order trees are non refundable once production has commenced.

Extended Care Service

All orders include up to 60 days of complimentary nursery care from the order date. During this time, your trees are carefully looked after in the nursery and prepared for dispatch in line with normal availability and logistics.

Most customers take delivery as soon as their trees are ready. However, if you need additional flexibility, our Extended Care Service is available subject to availability. Where you ask us to hold your trees beyond 60 days, the Extended Care Service provides continued nursery space, regular watering, feeding, monitoring, and ongoing care to maintain the health and quality of your trees. This service applies only where a hold has been explicitly requested by you. It does not apply where trees are being held due to nursery processes, quality checks, or logistics scheduling outside your control. Extended Care charges are calculated based on the total order value and are applied pro rata.

  • Days 61 to 90 after the order date: 2% of the total order value per month
  • Day 91 onwards after the order date: 5% of the total order value per month

If trees are held beyond 60 days and the Extended Care Service has not been agreed, we reserve the right to cancel the order and return non-bespoke orders to stock. In these cases, a refund will be issued less any applicable Extended Care charges.

Please note this does not apply to bespoke orders, which are non refundable once production has commenced.

This approach allows us to care for your trees responsibly while giving you a clear and fair choice between extended nursery care or returning trees to stock.

Redelivery After Dispatch

If the delivery address provided is incorrect, if no one is available to receive the trees, or if we have not been authorised to leave them safely, your order will be returned to the nursery. In this situation, a return shipping fee of £180 will apply, along with any additional standard delivery charges to redeliver. We’d love to help you avoid this. If you have any concerns about being available on the delivery day, please let us know in advance.
