Silver Merit! The Nectary Brought Buzz at Gardeners’ World Live
Tomas has just finished packing up our trees, and what an unforgettable time it’s been at BBC Gardeners’ World Live. From the very start, The Nectary was brimming with beauty, creativity, and heart. Our Small-Leaved Lime Trees looked right at home as the leafy backdrop to this stunning show garden, and we’re beyond proud to share that the garden was awarded a Silver Merit. A well-deserved honour for designer Kate Patrick and her brilliant team.
A Garden with Purpose (and Pollinators)
It was a real treat to spend time with Kate in the hand-painted greenhouse, chatting about bees, trees, heirloom tomatoes and everything in between. Her passion for sustainability and storytelling came through in every detail from the handcrafted hazel stakes and one-of-a-kind copper watering can to the Bee Cups in action, with busy bees dipping in and out throughout the day. (We’re now a bit obsessed, bee-cups.com, if you’re curious!)
Kate even gifted us a pot of natural honey made by her own bees, a sweet reminder of everything The Nectary stands for.
Monty Don and a Moment to Remember
One of the biggest highlights? Catching a glimpse of the mighty Monty Don giving his talk. He praised this year’s show gardens as some of the best, and we couldn’t agree more. They were full of character, craftsmanship, and real soul.
Thank You to Kate and Everyone Who Visited
A huge thank you to Kate Patrick for making this all possible, your vision, warmth, and passion brought The Nectary to life in the most beautiful way.
And to everyone who came by for a chat and admired the garden, thank you. Seeing the smiles, hearing the questions, and sharing the space with so many lovely people made the whole experience truly magical.
If you missed us at Gardeners’ World Live, our next stop is RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, 1–6 July 2025. We’d love to see you there!
In the meantime, you can still bring a little of that magic home. Our Small-Leaved Lime Trees (Tilia cordata 'Greenspire') are available to order now. Loved by beekeepers and pollinators alike!
