The Nectary Is Blooming and Our Trees Are on Their Way to The Gardeners' World Live

The countdown has begun. Today, our seven beautiful Small-Leaved Lime Pleached Trees set off from the nursery, carefully loaded and heading straight for BBC Gardeners’ World Live. Thomas, our brilliant driver, is at the wheel, and the trees are on the move to take their place in The Nectary, a truly special show garden designed by the incredibly talented Kate Patrick. We could not be more excited!

A Garden Full of Purpose

Designed with heart, The Nectary is a celebration of nature, community and sustainability. It brings together real people, independent makers and passionate growers who care deeply about what they do.

“This garden is a hive of activity. I couldn’t do this without everybody who’s contributed. You’re all part of The Nectary family now.”

From willow arches and wildflower planting to hand-knitted blooms and stained glass, every corner of this garden tells a story. The aim is not just to look beautiful, but to support pollinators, celebrate traditional craft and create something truly meaningful.

“The garden is beautiful, but every element in it also has purpose. That’s what makes it special.”

Built with Care and Conscience

Sustainability is woven through every part of The Nectary. The greenhouse base has been designed without concrete so it can be reused. A wormery will handle food waste during the build. Instead of cushions, seating will be topped with rare-breed sheepskins, shorn rather than slaughtered, from two neighbouring family farms in Lancashire.

The entrance to the garden features handcrafted hazel stakes, made by one of the few female coppicers in the UK. They’ll be wrapped in macramé ropes and decorated with over 2,000 crocheted flowers made by community groups in the North West.

“Every business I’m working with, I know the quality involved. I wouldn’t want to represent something I wouldn’t use myself. I can’t compromise on quality. It has to sit right with me. I have to feel passionate about what I’m doing and who I’m working with. I’m not dealing with faceless organisations. I’ve visited almost everyone involved, because these are real people and real businesses.”

Just Pleachy Trees Taking Their Place

Our RHS Plants for Pollinator, Small-Leaved Lime Trees (Tilia cordata 'Greenspire') were chosen for their soft shape, classic structure and ability to support wildlife, especially the bees.

“It might look like a garden, but behind the scenes it’s a hundred people making it all happen – from artists and growers to beekeepers and carpenters.”

Visit the Garden at BBC Gardeners’ World Live

The Nectary will be on display from 12 to 15 June at the NEC Birmingham, we’ll be visiting with our team (and a few very excited little ones in their mini Just Pleachy T-shirts!) to see it all come together. If you’re attending, come and say hello.

Fancy a Bit of That Garden Magic at Home?

You don’t need to be at the NEC to enjoy a slice of The Nectary. Our Small-Leaved Lime Trees are available to order now, straight from the nursery to your garden. Loved by pollinators, they’re a beautiful way to bring privacy and purpose to your outdoor space.
