A Helping Hand for Senior Customers Buying Pleached Trees

Three friends visited Just Pleachy’s Nursery Open Day last Friday after spotting the event in their local newspaper. They came for the trees, enjoyed the refreshments, and left us with a lovely story about gardening and friendship.

A Newspaper Story, a Nursery Tour, and a Shared Love of Monty Don’s Shows

The sun was shining, and the flowers were in full scent when Ken, Michael, and John arrived at the Nursery Open Day.

Gen, from our sales team, welcomed the three friends before giving them a full tour of the nursery. She explained the different species of pleached trees, and which varieties work particularly well for screening in different situations.

Ken, the group’s social coordinator, had discovered the event through a newspaper article in the Great Yarmouth Mercury. He was particularly interested to read that our trees had appeared in Samantha Stringer’s multi-award-winning show garden, The Power of Pink Plants, at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2026. The photo of Monty Don may also have helped!

Gen was delighted to discover that Ken was a fellow Monty fan, and the pair chatted about his television shows featuring gardens from around the world.

The three friends selected trees and flowers to purchase before enjoying complimentary refreshments in the outdoor lounge area, surrounded by beautiful palm and olive trees. They certainly didn’t leave empty-handed!

The Three Musketeers Visit Just Pleachy

Ken and Michael, both aged 95, have been friends for an extraordinary 60 years. They have shared their friendship with John for the past 30 years. A rather impressive total!

Fun fact: Just Pleachy founder Rachel went to school with Gen, and the pair have clocked up nearly 30 years of friendship themselves. A respectable achievement, but they still have some catching up to do with Ken and Michael!

Experience Worth Listening To

Ken, Michael, and John were very complimentary about the guidance they received during their tour. Their visit also reminded us how much we enjoy helping customers choose their trees, and how much gardening knowledge our customers bring with them.

Gen, Just Pleachy Sales Team, said

I absolutely love speaking to our senior customers. They have so much life, so much experience, and so much knowledge to share. Many have been keen gardeners for decades. Some customers appreciate a little extra support when placing an online order, particularly if they do not regularly shop online. We are always happy to help, whether that means assisting them with navigating the website or processing an online payment. For us at Just Pleachy, that is all part of providing outstanding customer service.

Helping Our Customers Shop with Confidence

Just Pleachy is wholly committed to helping our senior customers enjoy a smooth and safe online shopping experience. We fully appreciate that not everyone was raised using computers, and that some customers are nervous about buying online.

Customers can speak to one of our pleached-tree specialists during a no-obligation telephone consultation, request a written quotation, or arrange a visit to our show garden or nursery. Tours can be adapted for customers with limited mobility, seating is available, and visits can be taken at a comfortable pace.

Whether you are choosing your first pleached trees or adding to a garden you have tended for decades, we are here to make the experience friendly, straightforward, and pressure-free.

Simply call us or or arrange a visit, to have a chat with one of our pleached-tree specialists.

We will help you find the right trees in the way that suits you.
